Lani’s diversified background gives her a solid work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and unwavering integrity.
She grew up on a ranch in the tiny, rural community of Winnett, MT and received her AAS degree in Agri-Business from Dawson Community College in 1988. Lani worked a variety of government, retail and ranching jobs before settling in Billings and working in the healthcare field for 13 years. In 2009 she decided to further her education, and in 2011 she graduated from Walden University with a BS in Psychology. She also obtained her Realtor license in the fall of 2011 and has been selling real estate since.
Lani is also a real estate photographer and puts her talent to work on all her listings. In this day of internet shopping, she feels it is imperative to market each home with high quality photos, or risk losing sales to other homes with similar features but better photography.
In her free time, Lani enjoys playing roller derby, bicycling, triathlons (paddling, not swimming!), spending time with her grandchildren, camping, water sports, sewing, home improvement (especially if demolition is required), and reading.

Here is what a few of her clients have said about Lani:
“Lani did such an amazing job. She knew what I needed and went for the price range I asked. She was extremely patient with me while I asked a million questions and continually asked her for multiple showings to make sure I was making the right choice! I couldn’t have asked for a better realtor and cannot thank her enough for helping me get into the house I wanted. Her kind and patient personality helped me the most during this whole process!! Thank you so much again!! “ – Brittany H
“Lani Gershmel was an excellent agent for our family. She was very helpful, she knew many things about different characteristics about houses we looked at, and she is very personable! We recommended her highly! “ – Kyle & Kayla M
“Lani is an honest realtor and very upfront when you have questions and/or observations and takes the time to walk you through each step of the process. After moving to Montana, I had requested a couple of showings in the last couple of years and she was very willing to meet, she spent a whole afternoon showing me homes just before I purchased my current home. She takes the time, does a lot of research, keeps you informed – very informed, and goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable with the home you are considering, and shows an abundant amount of patience. She is a great asset to your team and I would recommend her in a heartbeat.” – Prisilla F
